Liverpool and Wolves

I'm watching Liverpool and Wolves now.. not a very good match.. long passes are plenty and the passing is scrappy. why did liverpool end up in such a state. last season they were title contenders and now they're struggling to fight off wolves. seriously wolves seems to be doing a much better job than liverpool in terms of passing and putting the keeper to test. selling alonso was the biggest mistake ever! who would want to swap gareth barry for alonso? not the play in midfield is scrappy and disorganised. it's sad to watch.

anw it's the start of school and i've been doing my best to keep up with lectures online. so far i've only attended 1 lecture in school and that was the most unproductive lecture i've had ever since school started. basically i could not concentrate at all. online lectures are much more productive and well paced for me. pauses anytime you want, stops anytime you press =)

pls score liverpool.. score....

Collingwood's Children Farm~

We went to this place called Collingwood's Children Farm with shuyan wong yuen and rachel.. it's somewhere near the city area. Well i think it was quite interesting as i managed to see a kid find an egg in the chicken's lair and brought it to the reception. anws.. these were the pictures taken.. there was even a marketplace inside selling veg and other stuff.. we tot we cld get a good deal there.. but apprently.. fresh food are always more expensive than those you get in supermarkets...

we even saw piglets being taken away from the mother pig because they needed medical attention. i cldn't bear filming the mother pig being so helpless.. so i just took a few pictures of the pigs and piglets..

DSCN6953.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6956.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6957.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

it was a hot day... so everyone... including the animals were hiding in the shade..

DSCN6960.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6961.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

had quite a fun day out except the hot weather.. after that we went to the 'swing' restaurant and had bubble tea and taiwan beef noodles. French Island was next in our itenery!

Visit to Melbourne coming to an end~

I've been in Melbourne for almost a month already. I'm going back to Singapore next Tuesday and the thing that I will miss most about Melbourne, is the weather... although there was a slight increase in temperature 3 days ago, the weather here is generally quite friendly. For example, today's weather is about 23 degrees Celsius with partly cloudy skies and nice bright sun. Humidity is low and the breeze is nice =)

However, nothing compares to being at home/Singapore. It's a place where i'll feel safe and warm (literally). Been chatting with my mom these days and found out that she's facing a lot of stress at work. Her boss thinks she's a slow worker, her colleagues don't get along well with her.. i guess it's really quite tough to go out and work when u're already 50 plus. she says she is not as proud of her job as before and knows that she is slowing down. i really wish i could help her.. like maybe go out and work or something.. i've depleted my savings from army and other work, looks like they aren't the only ones with bad financial planning. i'll just study hard and give her less troubles i guess....

anw.. i just recieved an email saying that they rejected my appeal for one of the electives. this sucks.. i hate it..

More pictures of the scenery in Melbourne coming up!

These are called 'mature can blow' flowers.. as termed by Rachel. Look at how happy she is... hahaah.. and that is me taking a sushi break. we were on and adventure to take the city circle tram which is free.

DSCN6902.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6903.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6904.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

we took it from Melbourne central but decided to take a walk inside first. we bought crepe before leaving and headed to take the city circle tram!

DSCN6905.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6906.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6907.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6910.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6912.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

we then alighted at docklands and there's actually a shopping area there! it's a bit isolated though.. maybe it's because the shops were closing/closed.. the second picture shows a feris wheel that is being reconstructed as the engineers didn't take into account of the heat that Melbourne has... wad a waste of time and money..

DSCN6913.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6914.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

Then we walked further in and discovered this place called Costco. It's a member's wholesale store where they sell items in huge bulk and the prices there seems quite reasonable. The catch is that you've to be one of their members if you want to purchase stuff inside. otherwise, you can sign in and take a tour inside the store. (which is what we did) the second picture is just to show you how giant their shopping carts are.. to fit giant food wraps... in a giant store!

DSCN6920.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6916.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6917.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6918.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

it was time to leave as we had to meet shuyan back at college square.. we took a walk down the docks and took a city circle tram back to melbourne central

A week in Melbourne

I've been in Melbourne for a week already. Seems like things are going quite well till i found out that quite a lot hamster babies die. i feel responsible for not being there to take care of them personally. oh well.. think about the good stuff! 1 more is left.. and it's because its the strongest and hamoinee will give it all the love tt she has. =) jiayou little one! you must be strong and make your parents proud~

anw today was quite a fun day in melbourne. after lunch we took a tram to albert park. where shuyan practiced golf, i went jogging and shuling sat at the bench to write and listen to ipod. the run was tiring. the air in melbourne seems thinner and the mixture of cold and hot air just makes you breathe harder. it wasn't an easy terrain to run either. it was sand!

anw this was the box of mangoes we bought at victoria market. it's damn sweet and there's one more left.

this are some pictures of the white/black ducks we saw at albert park!

DSCN6872.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6871.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6873.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

and these are the black and brown ones =) the 3rd picture has a little baby duckling there.. it's so cute and Rachel love it. the 2nd picture is kind of like a arty picture i tried to take. it's a bit slanted..

DSCN6876.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6878.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6879.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

these are some of the sleeping ducks that didn't wake up when i was trying to take a picture of them. notice their beautiful feather and the blue colour.

DSCN6894.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6896.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

this is st kilda's beach. me rachel shuyan and janice went there and had lots of flies swarming us! shuyan says it's because it's summer that's why there are lots of flies~ the beach looks beautiful and the weather was good. it was about 26 degrees. there were lots of dogs playing at the beach too. after that we went to have fish and chips for dinner. couldn't finish it~

DSCN6900.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6901-1.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

6th day in Melbourne and Happy New Year!

Today's the 1st of Jan 2010. Happy new year to everyone~~! Saw some fireworks with Rachel from Shuyan's room last night and stayed in because it was raining. Today's weather in Melbourne is cooling and nice. Great day to go out and have fun. I'll take more pictures and post it up here.

Meanwhile, these are some pictures that I've taken the past few days:'

We've been walking a lot these days and this picture was taken after we left Victoria Market ( it was closed )

DSCN6859.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

We saw some cool stuff on the way. This is a ticket booth for cars parked along that road. Unlike Singapore, Melbourne uses this system where you pay for your parking after alighting from your car. In a way, you can't cheat the time you've been parked there and it saves trees too! And the 2nd picture shows you how much you've to pay for parking! Category 1 handicaps don't have to pay for parking.. i guess it's for those on wheelchairs and stuff..

DSCN6854.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6855.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

This is a brothel that we walked past. It's just along the streets and a very glamorous place as of what I've heard from my friend.

DSCN6860.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

This is like a Sports complex we have in Singapore. There's a swimming pool and other sports facilities inside. Looks like a train station to me.. haha nothing like a sports complex!

DSCN6852.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

We then went to the park to take a look at the dogs there. There were lots of dogs there and the owners will just unleash them and let them run around without their leash. The dogs are very well trained and will not run away! I also want to have such a dog/s. The flowers there were blooming nicely and they're very colourful. Though they're being planted there, just like how it is in Singapore, the colours are brighter.

DSCN6845.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6844.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6843.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

We also saw these funky animals. They're very loving! We brought bread to feed them and they will transport the food back to their babies hiding in the tall grassy area in the 2nd picture. We manage to see some babies upclose but didn't manage to get pictures of them. They small little animals with a little bald patch on the top of their head.

DSCN6847.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6849.jpg picture in Australia MelbourneDSCN6861.jpg picture in Australia Melbourne

So far the stay in Australia has been pleasant. Hope to see more interesting things so that I can take more pictures of it =)
