9 bad things that are good for you

Read online about 9 'bad things' that are good for you. Some of them are actually known but some are quite surprising. So thought I share it here:

1. Anger

If in moderation, bursts of anger are good for health. However if it's too much anger, it will lead to problems with blood pressure and sleeping disorders.

I kinda know this already la. I mean keeping too much fire inside yourself can really burn you ( in terms of mental and physical health ) It's good to let out your anger once in awhile but take note of the feelings of the people that you love and care for.

2. Coffee

Often linked with increase in blood pressure, arthritis and stillbirth, coffee actually works wonders in waking us up in the morning, improves short term memory, boost muscle power and alertness. It also acts as in anti-oxidant and reduce risks of diabetes.

Well I must say I'm quite surprised with the fact that it reduce risks of diabetes. My mom always tells me that drinking too much ice coffee will cause me to get diabetes. Looks like she's got the wrong impression of coffee. It just tastes so good.

3. Alcohol

In MODERATION, alcohol is good for the heart for middle-aged man. 2 - 3 alcoholic drinks per day can reduce the risk of heart attack by at least 30%. However, if in excess, it will cause liver damage and dependency.

Well I know for a fact that having too much alcohol is bad. Got drunk twice in my whole 24 years on the Earth. It's not joke man. Sooo.. however happy/sad/emo you're feeling, don't get drunk.. just get high!

4. Bubblegum

Causes mouth to produce more saliva to prevent cavities.

Not a common commodity in Singapore. But don't treat it as a substitute for brushing your teeth.

5. Infections

Children need exposure to viruses and bacteria at a young age. This helps build up their immune system. Lack of it will tend to develop allergies.

hmmm i'm not too sure about this, not a doctor.. so no comments

6. Stress

It helps boost immune system when stress comes in short doses.

I'm a lil suprised by this. Everytime I feel stress, I will be quite emo and tend to not do well.

7. Not doing housework

Women who use household cleaning products during pregnancy and shortly after giving birth increase their child's risk of getting asthma.

hmm i guess, we just have to stick to using vacuum cleaners and soap to clean when the wife is pregnant.

8. Smoking

erm.. this is the most surprising one and for the cons.. i think the pros can be negligible. If you wanna know more, i'm listing the link at the end of the post.

9. Video Games

Scientists have suggested that video games helps one to lose weight and get fit! Action games raises the heart beat rate and increase breathing rate. However, it CANNOT be substituted for real exercise.

Well I must say that it's quite true. I do play online games and sometimes, when it's exciting, i tend to feel my body warm up a lil. So play more games, but don't neglect the ones you love and your studies/work/career/family.
